Margaret,
Let's be honest, you're probably experiencing a bit of cabin fever by now, but by practicing social distancing, you're doing your part in flattening the curve and preventing further spread of COVID-19 to not only vulnerable populations, but to all Americans.
Your My Care, My Choice team understands the frustration, we're experiencing it too, and wanted to share some ideas and activities you can do during this challenging, but necessary, period of time.
- Read or listen to a new children's book together: Audible is offering children's audiobooks and original children's programming for free through a separate web portal, without tracking, that is available to anyone. Offerings are organized roughly by age level.
- Try out a recipe: You can't get better at cooking if you don't try, right? Websites like the Food Network and All Recipes host thousands of recipes from all over the world – give it a try!
- Listen to a podcast: Podcasts are a great way to gain insight into a topic. Want to stay informed on all things COVID-19? Listen to this podcast by the Federation of American Hospitals that discusses how COVID-19 is impacting hospitals across the country.
- Watch some nature webcams: We Are Teachers has curated a list of "the best" nature webcams from all over the world, which could be relaxing in this trying time.
- Navigate schooling at home: PBS Kids is offering parents a daily e-newsletter to help families weathering COVID-19 school closures with tips, tricks, and play.
- Take a class at Yale: Yale University is offering its highly regarded "Science of Well-Being" class online for free. In this class you will learn about your own happiness and build more productive habits.
As we all work together to do our part through social distancing, we hope these tips are helpful in keeping you, your family, and your kids busy, informed, and safe.
Stay healthy and safe,
Team My Care, My Choice
